PEAU D’ORRIS

𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗨 𝗗’𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗦, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀.

PEAU D’ORRIS, my second all-natural composition, following 𝘙𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘥𝘦 𝘓’𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵é 𝘖𝘶𝘥, it carries the same uncompromising ethos, crafted entirely from nature’s own palette, without a single synthetic, each accord built patiently from raw material to final weave. For those who still trace the lines of what the “greats” drew in the early 1900s, Peau d’Orris seeks to extend their architecture, placing various orris rhizome materials at the centre of a leather chypre that speaks in the language of skin. 

Peau d’Orris is built around the duality of orris rooty depth and violet powder woven into leather, oud, and animalics, until in the far drydown it becomes something unmistakably human. No premade bases, no synthetic scaffolding, only nature’s own palette: tinctures, enfleurages, and rare distillates—each material given its place through time and patience.

Where Rose de L’Antiquité Oud was my ode to roses and kyara esque oud in pure dialogue, Peau d’Orris is my exploration of the intimate space, i.e the scent of skin upon skin. A structure guided by heritage yet carried forward with rare materials: Sylheti and Prachinburi oud, Yugoslavian oakmoss, Mysore sandalwood, aged civet paste, and the quiet bridge of heavy irones(20% and 80%) revealing its Belgian cacao facet.
